Hello, I am Sonicalia and welcome to my page dedicated to the talented(and very fine) Lenny Kravitz!Lenny is quite an interesting guy. Born to producer Sy Kravitz and actress Roxy Roker. Lenny moved to Los Angeles from New York when he was very small. By the time he was ten he had joined the California boys choir and the Metropolitan opera. At 15, Lenny decided it was time to go out on his own, so he lived in a car while still attending Beverly Hills High. Then in 1989 he released his debut album "Let Love Rule", following with releases "Mama Said", "Are you gonna go my way", "Circus", and now his 1998 release"5". Lenny has been compared to Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and even has been said to have the poetic presence of Bob Dylan.Lenny is a legend of Neo-psychodelic music and is hopefully gonna keep on rockin past the millennium! My review- I am going to review all of Lenny's albums and tell you the best buys. Scale: 1 being Terrible and 10 being Excellent. ***Let Love Rule***** His First Debut was very powerful, original and kind. But,it wasn't very broad in knowledge or experience(to me), So I give it a "6" Best Songs:"Mr.Cab Driver" and "Does anybody out there even care". ***Mama Said***** This being his second album is one of his best and one of my favorite cd's. This exploration of melodic harmony was a revelation in music.*Great Buy*, I give it a "10" Best songs:"It ain't over till it's over" and "The difference is Why". ***Are you gonna go my way**** Seargeant funk has arrived! I would say this album is when I heard the "Jimi" in "Lenny", excellente!I give it an "8" Best Songs:"Are you Gonna go my Way", "Just Be a Waoman" and "Eleutheria" ***Circus***** Better and Better it get's with him! A very psychodelic materpiece.Lacking some tact-but another piece to what makes him kewl! I give it a "7" Best Songs:"Beyond the 7th Sky", and "Tunnel Vision". ***5***** Yup! This is it- you will never have to search for good music again after hearing this cd. It elevates Lenny into another light, this cd has made him given him a whole new genre of music-"Lennyvision"(lol), and it is another one of my favorite cd's!!!I give it a 10+! Best Songs:"I Belong to You", "Take Time" and "Fly Away". | The best of Lenny! | ||||||||||||||||
